During the period of growth in children and adolescents, the body requires a large amount of energy and nutrients. Growth corresponds with increased muscle mass and skeletal system, and it is necessary to have good food during this period. It is vital to have a good supply of minerals and vitamins for growth.

The vitamins that are most essential are vitamins A, D, folic acid, B12, B6, riboflavin, niacin and thiamine. It is recommended that all these vitamins come from the consumption of healthy foods, especially fruits and vegetables.

But, it is quite common that children do not like vegetables, and that’s when we need to sharpen their wits and use our intelligence to make children eat all kinds of vegetables and fruits. Anything is better than having to go to the doctor, because children tend to be lethargic, weak, or if they feel pain in the muscles.

These may be symptoms of lack of vitamins and can be solved with concentrated vitamin pills. But, this is not the best way. All vitamins are essential for the proper functioning of the body, and to a lesser or greater extent, they are found in all fruits and vegetables.

The vitamins for growth are found in food like milk, eggs, liver, fish, yogurt, cereals, meat, fruits and vegetables. The recommended vegetables that provide high amounts of vitamins are carrots, pumpkins and spinach.

But, these are just some of the foods that contain vitamins. The vast majority of food provides not only some vitamins, but also give us minerals that are also very important for the growth of our children.
